I would like to take this opportunity to thank Kelly for the Thailand, Cambodia, and Malaysia tour she developed for us for the period of 17 March to 17 April 2023. Now that I have returned home and had time to reflect on our experiences I can safely say you exceed my expectations in so many ways.
During the planning stage you collected the appropriate information, developed a plan, then responded to my feed back in a timely manner. Your degree of planning showed an excellent understanding of the local environment and its challenges. The end result was an efficient tour that provided a good balance of cultural immersive, fun and, time to recover just when needed. In addition you provided updates whenever changes like flight times occurred and local points of contact given should a concern arise. Your updates demonstrated you were looking ahead of our tour progress making certain there were no problems.
The local tour guides you selected were consistently excellent. They were very engaging, knowable, and energetic. They would discuss what was planned, and how it was to be done, and if there were any questions or changes we wished to make. Time after time when we went to a venue they knew the best way to get there, already had the tickets or forms to get right in and then provided an excellent experience. At the end of the event they had an air conditioned vehicle waiting for us with cool towels and ice water. In this hot climate this was very much appreciated. Not having to stand around waiting added to the overall enjoyment.
I can not say enough about your excellent logistics planning. We never felt rushed, when we got to a hotel we were always expected and they were ready for us. All seven of the flights we took were well planned. The guides would take us to the airport and check us in to be certain there was no problems. When we arrived at our destination there was always someone waiting for us and we were off without any delays. In the one instance where there was a question about having the necessary country visa for a flight. Not only were you quickly available but you produced an alternate plan that actually got us to our next destination a few hours sooner than originally planned.
How and where one travels is a highly personal decision. But through your interview you obtain the necessary information to provide us the appropriate type tour. The overall experience was excellent and something we will remember forever.
Your being recognized as one of the most trustworthy tour operators is well deserved.

To say that our Croatian experience with Travel Local has been a fabulous trip, is denying them of so many other special ways in which to describe what this holiday has meant to my wife and I.
We loved this country so much & what has truly enhanced this experience in so many ways, starts with the way Monika & Antonia have listened to what our preferences have been and designed the vacation perfectly!! They were both at our disposal to all hours, regardless of world time. All of these experiences cannot be converted to money, as the experiences we will remember for the rest of our lives, will far outweigh the money we spent.
The crew on tour carried on this tradition of such exceptional service and there were a few that definitely require a special thank you:
- Duye, our driver for the first 5 days of our adventure. Every day with Duye was an absolute joy, as his positive personality and infectious nature made each day pleasurable. Duye provided both a thorough overview of the places on each days agenda, as well as provided us with amazing additions to the schedule when time permitted. Duye is the perfect example of what exceptional service is all about. Our eternal gratitude goes to you Duye!! :)
- Petra (our guide at the Plitvice Lakes). A person that really delivers a personality of caring, nurturing and explaining the indepth & interesting knowledge of her environment. Petra shows passion beyond that is normal & she treated us with an wonderful overview of her local knowledge that truly kept us captivated.
- Ivana (our Split guide) - again the passion and ability to take us on the journey of history within this location, sincerely amazed us from start to finish & she has the most wonderful, positive demeanour that set the highest of standards and Ivana treated us with the greatest respect when we also had questions or special requests.
- Toni (our water pilot in Hvar) - warm, gentle, and geniune personality who provided us with the options of the day, & was truly happy for us to chose. Given that we missed the Blue Caves, due to over crowded lines, our decision not to visit these caves gave Toni the opportunity to be versatile and the additional attractions were perfectly suitable to us. Thank Toni very much for creating that special day.
Everyone else, including the hotel staff at the hotels chosen for our accommodation, have also contributed to the most memorable time for us in Croatia.

Morocco is a must-visit!
I had the most amazing time in Morocco. I reached out to TravelLocal through a recommendation from a friend who visited Morocco last year. When I connected with Sarah, she was very helpful in putting together an itinerary for my 18-day trip. I didn't really know what to expect because I didn't do much planning/researching on my own. When we got to Morocco, everything was organized and ready for us. Our first driver didn't speak English, but when Sarah learned that we couldn't communicate with our driver, she immediately found us a new driver who did speak English. Barek (our driver) was GREAT! He was very friendly, very accommodating, and very easy to get along with. He always stopped for any photos we wanted to take, took us to the local spots, and shared fun facts about things we saw on our drive.
Must-Visit: Sahara Desert, Hot-Air Balloon, Fez, Chefchaouen, Ourika Valley, Toudra Gorge, Essaouira, and so much more. There was not one day we did not enjoy during our time in Morocco. I would recommend TravelLocal to others and would also definitely recommend Barek as a driver.
Recommendations for future guests - Tell your language preference to the agent at TravelLocal so they can set you up with a driver that speaks the same language. Ask for a detailed itinerary which shows the timings for each day so you can plan other activities around it.

From being picked up at Kathmandu Airport & taken to our hotel on arrival to being dropped back there 15 days later, our tour experience was perfect. First 3 days with a guide seeing many places of interest in Kathmandu, onto Chitwan for a fantastic experience which included jeep safari, jungle walk & canoe trip, few days in beautiful Pokhara, then a homestay with a local family. Another night in Dhampus Village where we had views of the Annapurna Range then a bus trip back to Kathmandu. Really felt like we saw so much of this fantastic country. Not much that could have improved our trip but would maybe suggest a little bit more info in the itinerary on what clothing/baggage required at certain times as we were not prepared properly for the trekking part luggage wise. However, Anish just did a bit reorganisation & all went well.

Annelies and TravelLocal will make your trip to Peru unforgettable!
Annelies was wonderful to work with during the entire process, from my initial inquiry to the completion of my trip to Peru. She was patient with all of my questions and I even had the pleasure of meeting her while I was there - it was so wonderful to put a face to all of the emails and WhatsApp messages we exchanged. The tour guides she arranged for me were absolutely incredible (huge kudos to Carolina in Lima and Maria in Cusco!) My trip to Peru was my first solo international trip so I had a few reservations but Annelies and her team made me feel extremely comfortable and safe. I can't pay Maria enough compliments and her vast knowledge was unmatched. The locals were very friendly and there was never a moment that I felt unsafe. I highly recommend a trip to the wonderful country of Peru!

We loved every tour and every hotel except Hotel Nobile in Rio. The other hotels were wonderful. We loved Ilha Grande and Daria suggested it. It was a wonderful surprise. We were traumatized by the African Market in Salvador Bahia, where they had all the animals for sacrifice (I'm an animal lover) and the temple which was interesting, but upsetting. Also our guide in Salvador launched into a description of How Jews controlled the World Bank and other conspiracy thoeries. I'm Jewish and that offended me. Iguazu Falls was spectacular and our guide wonderful, and so was our guide in Rio. The hotels in Iguazu, Salvador, Paraty and Ihla Grande were all fabulous. We marvelled at how Daria made all these connections and made it work within our budget and time constraints.

We really liked the custom Itinerary that Daniele helped us put together. We liked almost every Guide selected by Travel Local. All the drivers showed up on time and were very professional. The hotels recommended/selected were excellent both in amenities and in location. We were able to see an amazing amount of Southern Spain in a very short amount of time with a great amount of flexibility based on excellent planning and input from Daniele.
There was only one guide that was a bit disappointing took us to Toledo but the others were exceptional and we have had many guides over the years. Also, I wouldn't include the Spanish Town as a part of Barcelona Itineraries, as it is a bit of a filler - Everything else we seen there was excellent.

5 of us just returned from a 20 day trip to Portugal the first 13 we’re organized by Travel Local and Off Beat Portugal. AMAZING!! The only way to travel, everything was on time the drivers/ guides could not have been friendlier more knowledgeable and kind. This is the way to see a country in our case Portugal. There was nothing lacking and everything went off like clock work. The guides would even adapt to fit our needs on the particular day as 95% of the time it was just the 5 of us in our group tour of the day. I believe we saw everything and missed nothing. Our feedback and input was sought always. If doing a trip this site should be your first stop if inquirey.

I loved that our agent was local to the country we were visiting. It made it easier to have candid conversations to determine what options for the trip made the most sense for my husband and I.
Our hotel stays were awesome. We were close to everything we wanted to be near. Our agent also arranged for pick up transfers for us which made our vacation much more relaxing not having to worry. These transfers including taxis, planes, and ferries. We went to 5 different destinations in Greece and having to navigate this ourselves would have added a lot of stress. I was very thankful that we had a thorough agent who payed attention to the little details.

Outstanding experience
Our local contact Carmen was professional, very nice and attentive. She helped us put together a perfect plan, and when we missed a flight, she made adjustments so that we don't miss anything we wanted to see although we arrived almost 24 hours late. The guide Danny was outstanding. He spoke English well, he was knowledgeable and taught us a lot about the history, geography, food, and people of Ecuador, and he let us explore at our own pace but always made sure we were on time to the next place or our hotel. He did a great job connecting us with locals in a variety of ways. Excellent accommodations, too.

Travellocal was an experience between going with an organized group tour and doing the entire trip on your own. A travel advisor helped to create a holiday plan that falls within your time, budget and places that you want to see. Our experience in Brazil was that all our tours were just organized for our family, so unlike going with a group we were not herded around but was given the space to experience the places on our own time.
As I have mentioned before, the only aspect that TravelLocal can look into is to provide the option to make payments in installments.

Experience with Memphis Tours-Travel Local for Egypt Tour
We like that Memphis Tours-Travel Local works provides all the information necessary and does the booking of hotels and flights while in Egypt. Then one is met with a Tour Leader at the airport, and that person is ones contact person throughout ones stay in Egypt. Then one has a guide and driver that work as a team for the northern portion of the trip. Once on the cruise portion of the trip one is assigned another guide and a small group of around 10-15 people that tour together. This allows for connections and continuity of the story-telling by the guides.

Amazing service. Everything was made super easy and streamline in the holiday. The itinerary they put together was perfect. Lots of things we wouldn’t have done on our own.
Having a WhatsApp chat with 2 reps on holiday to answer last minute questions or confirm pickup times is an added bonus to keep it stress free.
Can’t fault the service and will be using again. Perfect holiday (lucky with weather also helps).
Would highly recommended using this service, especially for holidays in Vietnam or close by.

Once in a lifetime Polish adventure
My mom and I did a tour of Poland the week before we were meeting family. Our advisor Dominika set us up in some of the nicest hotels in close proximity to all the sites. Dominika also booked us on excursions where we not only learned about our heritage but also got to do things I would not have been able to find on our own or through a mainstream tour guide app. On top of that we had potentially the best tour guides as well as our private driver for the week, Mariusz, who was a highlight of our trip.

Travelling locally and sustainably with Travel Local
We have used TravelLocal 3 times now over the last 5 years - a month n Sri Lanka, a month in India and a month in Vietnam. All have been great. Lonely Planet is our bible so we are pretty clear on our itinerary and accommodation requirements and to have had it all stitched together seamlessly with a fabulous driver and great additions on the back of understanding our interests is so appreciated. We are already planning our next trip and it will be with Travel Local. Thank you!

First (hopefully not last) good experience with Travel Local…
As an umbrella company Travel Local provides the level of security and confidence that we are dealing with a reputable, responsible local tour company (not unknown and/or unproven or worse fake entity)Organizing the trip with Abril from Tangol was a very nice experience (someone that listens and caters to our interests and physical abilities). The trip execution by hired suppliers (transfers, hotels, entry tickets, domestic flights, excursions) was close to perfection.

Having a local agent saved the day
Having a local agent with personal knowledge of the towns, cities and routs was really helpful in planning our trip. However when things didn’t go quite as planned and my husband got sick our agent was invaluable. He arranged for a local agent to call a taxi to take us to a clinic and to meet us there in case we needed any extra help. Once recovered our trip was adjusted. So what might have been a disaster resulted in only some minor changes to our itinerary.

Since I did not travel with a group, it was important that I see all the spots I had researched. Hannah was great about finding the best accommodations and creating private tours to take me to places where I wanted to go. For example, Cape Agulhas is the most southern point of Africa. Most tours do not stop there. I got to visit this spot and stayed In the amazing Agulhas Ocean Guest House. The owners were charming and the views unparalleled.

Your "weak spot" was specifying the locations for meeting with the tour guides or tour companies. The specification of meeting points definitely needs improvement. We almost one entire day-tour because of the confusion about where/when the tour would start.

TravelLocal in Portugal
Our experience with TravelLocal was excellent from the very start. Marta was great in recommending activities and accommodations and restaurants. Of course you never know until you actually get there. We must say that every guide we had and every event we attended was exceptional! The hotels were excellent and the restaurants that were recommended, the ones we attended were also exceptional. We will travel this way again.

Madeira is the jewel of Europe!
Joana, the agent who arranged my trip gave me a personal call to ask my preferences, interests, reasons, and budget for visiting Madeira. From there she planned everything to the t, and I felt totally ‘taken care’ of. Throughout my stay, she and her team kept in touch every step of the way, including some last minute changes (weather, tour availability, and my hangover 😵). I cannot recommend them more.
