Received a defective part, condition supported by VW main dealer diagnostics. they requested the unit back, They refused a full refund. Also refused to return the part. Absolute disgrace.

Good day, thank you for your feedback. We sent you a fully working mechatronic unit type DQ400E. After installing from your side, regarding your email at the authorized workshop, you have received an error message for low pressure in the gearbox . We have asked to send it back to our warehouse, so check if the mechatronic unit is defective or not. After investigation during the standard 30 days after we received the mechatronic unit in our warehouse, we figured out regarding service history to your VIN number that the gearbox has mechanical failure since 2024, and there was no confirmation in service history regarding the installation of the mechatronic online. We also figured out that the mechatronic unit is fully working - pressure sensores incl oil pump. As we explained via email, low pressure may have more reasons, especially in the case of the DQ400E mechatronic unit. You have asked for a software upgrade - we have informed you that this needs to be done at an authorized workshop during the installation process, but we sent you a mechatronic unit with the latest software. You have also asked for another new unit to be sure that that mechatronic unit is not a problem in your case. As we have informed you via email, this is not possible. The mechatronic unit needs to be installed at an authorized workshop and is ordered only with the VIN number for your car. We cannot just send you a new unit to make you sure about it; the mechatronic unit is not an issue in your case. Regarding fault codes in service history for your VIN number, we recommended changing the complete gearbox since you confirmed that you think the problem is in the mechatronic unit or in software. But your local workshop was not able to reinstall new software in case you think this is the problem. As a result, we have accepted the return of a used/working spare part, which is normally not possible to return since it was ordered with a VIN number to close this case. We send a refund of 80% of the price for the spare part as compensation for the return of the used spare part, which cannot be sold as a new part anymore. Thank you. BR CEO Thomas Smith
