Order of floor lamp

I recently ordered a floor lamp from AGOF. The price was competitive and the customer service was professional. I was out of the country (Portugal) when I placed the order, so I had to request a delay in delivery, which AGOF accepted without hesitation and organised accordingly. They replied to my e-mails without delay. The delivery was quick and straightforward, and the lamp arrived in good condition. I will gladly consider AGOF again for my next order.

Customer service was excellent—they provided all the relevant information clearly and promptly. The order arrived even earlier than expected and was packed very securely. The Metrica bookshelf is fantastic! The quality exceeded my expectations, it looks beautiful in the space, and it feels sturdy and well-made. I’m very satisfied with the purchase.

Refund Withheld

The main issue was that the item was delivered in a completely damaged and unusable condition. I reported the issue immediately on the day of delivery, providing full photographic evidence. I requested a refund rather than a replacement, as I am entitled to do under applicable consumer protection law, given that a replacement would have required waiting at least an additional 15 working days for delivery (already waited almost 2 months), while no assurances were provided that appropriate measures would be taken to ensure that the item would be delivered intact on this occasion. Although the seller initially acknowledged the damage and indicated that I will be refunded, they have since delayed the process and introduced additional conditions (such as requiring confirmation of the damage by the courrier). Despite multiple follow-ups and a formal written notice requesting a refund, no reimbursement has been made to date. At this point, MORE THAN ONE MONTH after the notification of the damage, it remains unclear to me whether and when I will be refunded. This has never happened to me before when buying online.

We want to provide full clarity regarding the timeline: unfortunately, the delivery was accepted without "signing with reservation" (the standard procedure to immediately flag potential damage to the carrier). For the courier, this bureaucratic detail implies that the package was delivered intact. Consequently, the carrier has required additional verification and documentation, making the process much longer than expected—despite the excellent and timely photographic evidence you provided right from the biginning. However, we can reassure you that we are now in the final stages of this matter: we have followed up with the courier again, and they have assured us that they will provide final confirmation of the damage between today and tomorrow. As soon as we receive this confirmation, we will immediately initiate the full refund process for you, without any further delay. Thank you once again for your patience throughout this complex situation. We remain at your complete disposal.

We use palletised shipping specifically to ensure the integrity of our items, but unfortunately, in this case, the courier’s negligence has defeated our efforts. As you have seen, our customer service team responded promptly and offered a solution very quickly. We have accepted your request for a refund, although we were prepared to send a new product within approximately 10 days.
