I’ve been using the software for about three weeks now and so far I’m really happy with it. I’d recommend starting with the First Steps tutorial. After that, I just searched the YouTube channel whenever I needed help with something specific. There are quite a lot of videos there, so I usually found what I needed. It took me about four days to draw my house in Plan7Architect. It has two floors, a basement and a garage, so it was a fairly big project for me as a beginner. After that I exported everything in 3DS format and opened it in Twinmotion. And honestly, I was really impressed. The 3D visualization looks great and there are so many things you can do with it. I actually had a lot of fun doing the whole thing and I can see myself spending more time on this in the future. It might even become a bit of a hobby for me.

I’ve been using P7A PRO on my Mac through Parallels and it has been running very well so far. I’ve now planned a complete three-story house with it and found the learning curve easier than I expected. One tip for other Mac/Parallels users: don’t try to import files directly from the Mac Downloads folder. Copy them to a folder on the Windows C: drive first and import them from there. That solved the only issue I initially had. Overall, I’m very happy with it and was able to get into the workflow pretty quickly.

What I like most is that you can create as many floor plans as you want with no limits on the number of projects, size, buildings, or floors. You pay once and then you can basically plan as much and as big as you want. Before this, I used a paid online floor plan tool — I won’t name it because I don’t want to advertise it — and there I was paying about as much for a single project as Plan7Architect Pro costs altogether.

I bought Plan7Architect to plan a renovation and create proper drawings before speaking with contractors. It took me a little while to understand where everything was, but after watching the first tutorials, I was able to draw the existing house and test several different layouts. What I like most is that changes made in the floor plan are immediately visible in 3D. I could also add dimensions and create sections and elevations, which made it much easier to explain the project to the people working on it. The software has a lot of features, so there is definitely a learning curve, but for the price and the fact that there is no monthly subscription, I’m very satisfied.

My husband and I used the software to plan our renovation. He installed the Pro version on his HP laptop with Windows 11, and I used it on my MacBook Air with Parallels. We just kept sending the project file back and forth depending on who was working on it. The 3D view was a huge help for spotting mistakes and things we could improve. With just a simple 2D floor plan, we definitely wouldn’t have noticed a lot of those things. Now we’re sending the plans to our architect as DWG and PDF files.

I’m 67 and I’ve tried quite a few house design programs over the years. Some were more expensive and honestly harder to use. P7A Pro surprised me in a good way. You still have to learn it, it’s not like you open it and know everything right away. I watched the tutorials, especially the ones where they build a whole house from beginning to end, and that helped a lot. For the price, I really can’t complain. You can make proper floor plans, sections and elevations, and you can go into a lot of detail if you want. I also like that you can adjust wall layers, hatching and 2D views for PDF export. For me it’s a very solid program and definitely worth the money.

I have been working with Plan7 for about six months now, alongside other programs like SketchUp and Blender. The three complement each other very well. I primarily use Plan7 Pro to draw scaled floor plans, roofs, foundations, and site layouts. I use SketchUp to create 3D objects—or import ready-made SketchUp objects into Plan7. Finally, I export everything in 3DS format, import it into Blender, and create visualizations. Twinmotion is also excellent for visualizations, but I really like using Blender.

All-in-all, considering that I am not an architect and that I learned this program from scratch just recently with the help of the video tutorials and your tech support here and there, I am very impressed with what I ended up with. The plan drawings themselves are better than I thought I would ever possibly be able to produce by myself and the Twinmotion 3D walkthrough is absolutely amazing. My family and friends have been able to see exactly where things are going and I have actually gotten some really great input that has lead to some great tweaks that absolutely would not have been seen and suggested from looking at flat plans alone. The 3D imaging in Twinmotion quality is a game-changer.

Being able to walk through the house in VR gives you a completely different sense of the room sizes and layout. The export worked well and it’s also great for showing the design to other people.

After about two hours, I had already designed my first garage with the Pro version. Over the next two days, I drew my whole house, including two floors, a basement and a terrace. After that, I also planned the deck. There is no separate deck tutorial, but it works very similar to drawing a carport, and the two carport tutorial videos helped a lot. Now I’m putting together my sheets with the floor plans, sections and construction drawings so I can take everything to my architect. Overall, I find the software fairly easy to work with. The PDF manual is useful too, but I would definitely recommend starting with the tutorial videos first. I had no experience with similar programs before, but I’m comfortable with computers, and that helped me get into it pretty quickly.

I am working on our renovation project with my husband. We have installed the software on two laptops and send the project files back and forth when we work on them at different times. Personally, I enjoy the visualization in Twinmotion the most because you can walk through and view the house just like in a computer game. We have various renovation options and enjoy looking at them together.

I had been using other home design software for years and spent several thousand dollars on subscription fees over that time. I was surprised to see the one-time price here and bought the software without a second thought. I have to say, I am genuinely impressed by the software's features and capabilities. I learn something new every day and enjoy watching the new video tutorials.

P7A Pro is a very impressive piece of software, and it is also extremely good value. With it you can quickly sketch out a simple building, and you can then dive into the very extensive menu options to customise almost every aspect of your building and fit it out with a wide range of prebuilt 3D objects. It can take a while to get to know the menu system, so if you don\'t immediately find what you\'re looking for, just keep exploring!

Seriously, the new tutorials since January are a total game-changer – they clearly listened to the feedback and fixed all the old issues. I’ve been using Revit and AutoCAD for around 14 years, and I still test other architecture software every now and then. What stood out to me right away here was the price, especially the fact that it’s a one-time purchase. With the amount of features included, I genuinely expected something like this to cost significantly more. I like it so far.

I've been using the program for 3 days now and have found it very easy to use. My main reason for buying it was to plan a renovation of a 100-year-old house. The package is very comprehensive; therefore, I haven't even seen all the intricacies and details yet. But I was able to digitize the house and now have a basis for further planning. From my perspective so far, the program is definitely very good, extremely helpful, and absolutely worth the price.

Bought this a couple weeks ago to draw my house and plan some renovation ideas. Watched a few videos first and decided to give it a try. It took a little time to get used to, but once I understood the basics I was surprised how much it can do. For the price, I’m happy with it.
