Very efficient and well packed. The prices were also fair. The only minus point is regarding the delivery time. One day after this order, we bought some different products at a competitor (also German) and their products arrived 2 days earlier. We also used the same transport company. This wasn't that bad but comparing companies we would say that the competitor worked internally faster. Despite it, we strongly recommend bike-discount.de!!

I'm a long-time customer here, and ordered parts needed for a 2 month bike holiday. The parcel company lost the parcel and sent me a confirmation mail that they have for sure lost the parcel. I've contacted bike-discount 4 times now and they refuse to answer. I've made it clear that I need this parcel urgently (have been waiting for almost 3 weeks now). The only answer I get is: "we will come back to you via mail". Via mail they sent a standard message that the parcel company has not yet contacted them... Any other online shop I know would already have resent the package. Customer satisfaction is not very important. This will have been my last purchase here

I was asked to remove items from my order

I came to bike-discount to order some parts and overshoes. Unfortunately, I don't know if and how the overshoes would fit over my shoes, so I ordered several so I could see their quality, but also to see if they would fit (EUR49). After ordering, I received an email a few days later stating I can't order so many overshoes to simply send back to the store. I was told to remove several overshoes from my order. I'd never experienced this kind of treatment in my life. I removed two pairs of overshoes, and eventually after two weeks, my order was shipped. In the mean time, the overshoes I removed my order, i ordered from elsewhere. After receiving and examining all of the overshoes, I went with a pair that I had removed from my bike-discount order - whoops! I was forced to go shop elsewhere, and as a result bike-discount lost out. As a result, I would rate their customer service as not up to a good standard. Learn to appreciate your customers instead of forcing them into the arms of your competitors.

Bad user experience for 2023

== LIKE == - Best prices == DISLIKE == - After i made an order, an item became unlisted on the website after just few days! Now i got the item, but i can't read its description or see photos. (An archived description needed, when the item is deleted from the store). - Items from the orders list are not linked to their page on the website. - Orders don't have a "status" (e.g. processing, shipped, delivered/completed). - Completed orders do not have a "leave a review" button. - Email sale letters are in German lang., links also redirect to German localization. - The website and its design feels outdated. - The website often is slow, sometimes very slow (server response). - Very short logged in session expire time. - Every time session expires, I have to set my country again.

It usually works, but...

It usually works fine, but when it doesn´t work the support and help has to work. Otherwise customers go somewhere else. In this case the package is doing ping-pong in Germany for the past week and a half and doesn´t seem to find it´s way to the right place. Since DHL doesn´t care about their packages (obviously) doing races between two german cities you have too. You are very slow to answer e-mails and that doesn´t inspire confidence in Bike Discount as a company. If you have to much backlog, either see what´s wrong with that or hire more people. Customers need information when it doesn´t go to plan, silence means you don´t care, it´s that simple. I´m now leaning on cancelling the order completley and request my money back, but will see, I´ll give you a few more days.

Small disappointment

The bike Cube Reaction C:62 Race bluehaze´n´black left Bike-Discount for transport after 7 business days and arrived in Finland 8 business days after that. The bike has an excellent price-quality ratio and is comfortably light (about 10.5 kg L size). The disappointment is that the rear tire was empty upon arrival and deflated quickly even after pumping it up few times, so the first job was to replace the inner tire. There were numerous marks on the edge of the rear rim, apparently the outer tire had been twisted into place with a metal tire iron(?) so that the paint had come off and there were several sharp marks on the edge with the aluminum visible. The customer service responded quickly to my inquiry about delivery times before delivery.

Way too slow delivery – and way too slow customer support.

I like shopping at Bike-Discount – good prices, at lot of products in stock. However, your delivery time that past 6 months has been a joke. And you customer support is way too slow. I would like to keep shopping at Bike-Discount. However, regarding delivery and customer support you are getting way behind Bike24, Bike-Components and R2Bike, where I also shop. And I think the way your customer support has handled the issue with this order/case, is way below what I would expect. Hence, what you can compete on right now is probably only cheaper prices and/or you having products in stock, which are not in stock at one of the other webshops.

Still waiting for delivery

Mixed experience with the company. I have ordered some bike parts on 19th July, they dispatched it quite quickly, and it was handed over to delivery company DHL the 21st July. The parcel has arrived to DHL export center in Feucht the next day. So far so good. But the latest update was on 23 July, that the parcel was on its way to destination country. It has been over 2 weeks, when I finally had enough and reached out to customer service. They answered the next day and they are investigating my lost parcel as of now. I hope the issue gets resolved soon and I either receive my parcel or getting reimbursed for my purchase.

Delivery was delayed significantly. Our delivery address was changed between entering it on the Bike-Discount store website and its arrival in the DHL database. This meant that the package could not be delivered. When I approached Bike-Discount, I was told that I should wait at least a week before they could contact DHL. After a week had passed, I was then told that my address was not appropriate for delivery, though it had originally be entered correctly on the Bike-Discount website. It seems to me that Bike-Discount should work with DHL to improve the service of handling orders in this way.

I've bought cycling equipment on 3 occasions and had no problem with 2, however one order was lost. I do not know what happened to this day, the store is blaming the courier and the courier is blaming the store. I had to chase both and got little help from the customer service team. I was sent from one person to another and after a month I was told to apply for a refund , in writing! When everything works, the store does what it's supposed to, but when you encounter an issue you' re alone.

Wrongly advised by BD

I’m a bit disappointed that I requested help via the contact us on the website and I bought the exactly part the person asked me to and unfortunately it was the wrong part. I found out how hard it is to return an item and the worse part, I was told I have to pay for the item to be returned from Ireland to Germany as well pay another 10 euro to deliver another part, this time the correct one. It would be a surprise but BD should have stepped in and assumed the mistake as helped me out.

Got used part

Usually this shop has been reliable, but for some reason, this time I got used (and wrong) bike part as part of over 1000€ order. Customer service has promised to fix their mistake, but only after I return the old part. After 12 days of posting old part back, I haven't heard anything from them. Expecting delay for my son's bicycle project for 3 weeks or more due to this mistake. I Would have appreciated if they immediately posted the missing part after becoming aware of their mistake.

Ordered a wheelset, got wrong rear wheel

Ordered a wheelset, rear wheel was from different wheelset. To get what I ordered , I need first return wrong rear wheel, wait that shop handles my return and wait that they send correct item for me. First delivery lasted 1,5 weeks, now wrong wheelset is back again in the store (took 1 week). So I expect that I have a wheelset in my bike in riding condition takes total over 1 month :( No excuses, I have nor heard that they will compensate this for me etc... First and last order.

Huge 35% additional cost to goods ordered in form of Customs charges which added to final total made it far cheaper to order in UK. It also took 5 weeks to arrive due to customs delays via their delivery company. This is not directly Bike Discounts fault but UK customers should be made aware of potential delivery delays due to customs and big additional expenses to their goods. I have contacted Bike Discount Support team to express this but as yet 6 days later, no response

deception

If you sell goods with DHL shipment then send it with DHL not some other shipping company. I had shipped to me one order last year and one this year, that I payed for DHL shipment still I got them delivered from post service that charge extra and took long long time to delivered. This was not mention at the ordering web page. When I order from Amazon then I pay for DHL shipment and get delivered from DHL in short time, with no extra charge except the tax.

If DHL brings the shipment to the door, it is an order with DHL Express. We do not currently offer this, but this is in planning. The "fees" you have paid will probably be customs duties, which are payable when ordering to your country of delivery. This is required by law, and we point this out on our homepage. Poor communication. The delivery date is well overdue (at the time of this rating requested by Trusted Shops, the bike hasn't arrived yet, so I can't rate anything else). Upon enquiry, only a standard template email was received, nothing specific. If I had known that the delivery would take so long, I would have bought from the local official store where the price was the same and I would use the bike already a couple of weeks ago.

How loyal customers are recognized

The collection of parts that you deliver is quite wide. It consists of mainly good quality items. Hopefully high quality ebike lights from Lupine could be added. Delivery to Finland has taken usually more than a week which is few days more than some other german competitors of yours. From loyal customer point of view it would feel good to be recognized somehow if you buy certain total value of items during 12 months for example.

Another product was delivered instead of the ordered one

I ordered and paid for a product for 179.95€ I was sent another product for 44.95€, I guess my order was sent to someone else. Inside the original box of my order was a completely different product - Rain combo jersey men's Orbit Blue. I ordered the Assos Mille GTS Spring Fall C2 - Bib Shorts from which only the box came)) Now I need to exchange, which is my additional cost of money and time for return shipping and back to me.

It usually works, but.

I´ve ordered several times and the orders have arrived in time and without trouble but in this case, no. And a big no! I don´t think it´s Bike Discounts fault but DHL just sends the package in a loop in Germany. It doesn´t inspire confidence in further orders. It´s soon been a month since the order and for the past 2 weeks the package just travels around in Germany. Back and forth between Hamburg and Neumünster...

Good shop, bad shipping

I have ordered a bike from Bikediscount before, and I know the price/quality ratio is good. This time, the shipping process is a huge disappointment. It's been three weeks since the order and still no sign of the bike. I paid (a lot) for a DHL shipping but the tracking code takes me to PDP which has always been a nightmare to work with. The tracking ends somewhere in Denmark. I just hope the bike arrives unharmed.

It took 13 days from order was placed until the order was ready to be shipped, which I think was very long time. The payment also went trough 9 days before the order was ready to be shipped. To my knowledge that is not allowed! Furthermore DHL that delivers the package didn’t notify me that I had to be home for the delivery until when they were at my address, so I had no chance of being home for that.

Shop itself is good and product variety is good. Pricing is affordable. Biggest minus is delivery cost to Finland, which is 50 % more than in other german bike webshops. Other minus side is slowish delivery again compared to other german-based bike webshops.
