Had an upcoming flight in three days that I needed to change. No hassle request, got right into verifying existing flight and scheduling my new flight. Was immediately told of any price difference. Transparency is important to price sensitive customers. I got a small credit, and a voucher was issued by email. I wasn't familiar with vouchers and the agent had me pull up the email and explained the voucher and how I could use it. Hand holding is important when customers need extra help in understanding. The agent was thorough in making sure I had the seats I desired. I had paid for a non-standard seat on one leg of the flight, and the agent made sure I got the same premium seat. Attention to details like this makes a big difference in building a trusting relationship. The agent (a woman) had a calm and patient demeanor, affirmed my requests and questions by repeating them back to ensure understanding. At the end of the call, she made sure I was good to go. The only suggestion for improvement, which was beyond the agent's control, was the quality of the phone signal. I have consistently good quality from my phone, but I've noticed that when I've called Air France (3 times in the past month) the quality has been poor, starting with the AVR system.

Living in the USA, I am not a regular Air France/KLM customer, so I cannot comment on the website or the airlines from the perspective of a cash customer. However, as a hobby, I arrange travel and manage frequent flier accounts for 25+ friends and family. Consequently, I have far more knowledge of frequent flier programs than most people. As far as FlyingBlue is concerned, it is difficult to find something nice to say. 1) I do appreciate that transfers from Chase to FlyingBlue are instantaneous. (That is, when they are working at all.) It is frustrating that some other airlines still take a couple days to process an online transfer, and award seats may disappear before the points are available. 2) When attempting to transfer points to FlyingBlue from Chase, I got an error message, something along the lines of "This transaction requires special handling, please call...." I tried on my wife's account, and got the same message. So, I set up yet another account in my daughter's name, and the transaction went through without a problem. I googled the error message, and apparently this has been a regular occurrence with FlyingBlue for at least a few years. Some folks report that it was due to slightly different name spellings between their Chase and FB accounts, but that is not the case for me, and we have transferred points before. I do not know if the glitch is with Chase or FlyingBlue, but since you have chosen to be partners, you should correct this longstanding bug. 3) Why is it necessary to select a specific airline to perform an award search? I have just one FlyingBlue account, and, as far as I can tell, the search results are the same whether I choose the KLM link or the Air France link. (I have not tried a search on Transavia.) 4) When performing an award search, a 6-day calendar of results will appear, but the miles indicated on the calendar do not reflect the actual miles required. You must click on each day individually to see the actual results. 5) The mileage requirements for award tickets are completely out of whack. You might find one itinerary from Europe to North America in economy for 15,000 miles, which is a great price, even with the fees considered. However, the other itineraries, which are nearly identical, will be priced at 275,000 miles. WTF? I find it hard to believe that anybody would look at the results page and choose the 275,000 option, when the 15,000 option is readily available. It seems clear that you do not want to offer award tickets on certain flights. If that is the case, then you should simply not show those flights, which will clear up the clutter on the results screen. 6) Award pricing for premium cabins is simply absurd, often 600-700K for a one-way ticket in business class. Who would blow that amount of points on a single one-way ticket? As with most people, the bulk of my points are from credit cards, and I can transfer those points to multiple airlines. Why would I transfer 700K Chase points to FlyingBlue to get a single one-way ticket in business class? The same points could get me 8 tickets on United, Air Canada, Singapore, Iberia, British, Turkish, etc.? Better still, some of these airlines only assess fees of $6, compared to FU fees of $250+ on FlyingBlue. When planning award travel, I continue to consider all options, but FlyingBlue rarely comes out on top.

I tried booking a round trip with miles but could not. However I was able to book two one way tickets on the same dates I tried booking the round trip. In the past, I have also had more than once a certain number of miles showing for a round trip then I transferred miles from Amex and once the miles were in my account, AF asked for more miles literally a few minutes later. That’s what I call bait and switch and it’s dishonest to customer. However, I do like flying with AF and the personnel on the planes is usually very nice.

Favorite airline

Traveling halfway across the world on Air France was a very pleasant experience! The well-maintained aircraft and comfortable seats Make my long voyages much more relaxing! The cabin crews are so very nice, and they are very attentive to all of the passenger needs. The food that is served on Air France flights is superb! It's prepared with great detail and care, and is plentiful and really very flavorful. Of the many airlines that I fly on, Air France is my favorite!

My flight was changed unexpectedly. When I called they mentioned the air craft had mechanical issues. This was three months out. Not sure how the mechanics of planes work, but I don’t think that was the real reason. I booked this flight specifically to be able to fly with family. Now I had to change my plans and could no longer fly with my family. I gave them a 3 star because the customer service representatives I spoke to were kind.

No way to upgrade seats

Once you start a search you don't have any way to either see how much extra it costs to upgrade, either a segment or leg or whole trip. If you search for economy you can only book economy and never have the option to upgrade. A year or so ago your website had that functionality, but it's gone now. Even after booking, the only way to upgrade is to call and waste a person's time. That's ludicrous.

Flights I was looking for didn’t always appear. When attempting to re-start search, some data would be retained, some not, not clear what I would or wouldn’t have to re-enter. In some strange way I booked myself twice on the same flight. Customer service was not much help. Difficulty getting transaction canceled. Took two weeks to get round trip re-booked.

Ease of res modification and friendly service

I booked travel online and realised I had made an error in my departure date. I couldn’t change the reservation online for whatever reason as it was a changeable ticket. I dreaded calling in because of the usual hold times, getting transferred, etc but I got through immediately. The res agent quickly modified my flight and was very efficient and friendly.

I like Air France ..they care for their passengers and their belongings.. ONLY ONE BAD EXPERIENCE..my flight from Montreal to Chennai was canceled by you after booking my ticket in December 2023.and I had to incur lot of expenses due this cancelation. I thought they will give us some cancelation charges , but they refunded only our ticket fare.

The Air Blue benefits club for US seems messed up. Site for password input allows first letter to be only upper case—if password begins with lower, you have to enter the password on a clipboard first and then paste it. And then it tells you account is blocked. I don’t have this issue with any other airline loyalty accounts.

I booked the ticket using my miles

I booked the ticket using my hard-earned AirFrance miles. The taxes and fees we around $340. I also had a non-refundable voucher for $250 from my previous travel. Unfortunately, I was not allowed to apply my voucher to cover the cost of taxes and fees for this ticket. I am a Silver member of AirFrance and Flying Blue.

Air France ticket experience …some posited and negatives

Thought all representatives very helpful ,but found getting tickets through the website a little frustrating. Every time I pursued the more information option ,I couldn’t get back to what I already filled out .Finally on the third attempt and without pressing any more information options ,I was able to secure tickets

Great flight services

I very much value your professionalism and the high quality of service. My only suggestion is to improve the quality of taking care of travelers when it happen to have longer connection time than expected due to change of AF flights time - particularly a smoother process to obtain accommodation in the airport.

I wish there were more flights to Paris Orly where I need a correspondence to Algeria. Landing in CDGaulle forces me to travel to Paris Orly with my suitcase and pay a taxi (expensive) or take the transportation (rush hour) with the risk to miss the correspondence.

Better breakfast on long haul flight between LAX/CDG. Almost like dog food. BA has hot meal between LHR/CDG & AF only has cold plates only. I am a Platinum for Life AF passenger. Airfares & Life are expensive all over the world & hope to get some perks from AF.

Good Airline, Bad Website

I appreciate the airline overall but its website is not very reliable and can be quite frustrating. I make this comment after using it for more than a year. The problems are consistent. It is slow, clunky and resets often. It looks pretty but doesn’t work well.

Price drop not honored

The seats are comfortable, more leg room than other airlines. Friendly crew and agents. However, four days after I purchased my last ticket, I received a price drop email from AF. But they would not honor the new price. Then why did you send me the email?

Making reservations was straightforward enough

So far I have just made my reservations to fly round trip to Rome, Italy. So I don't have much to share yet. I will happily return to write a review after the trip. The process to make reservations was straightforward and easy enough.

Booking online from the US was very…easy and simple to follow.

Booking online from the US was very easy ! Very happy about the new non stop route from Phoenix to Paris. Also happy to be able to choose my seat online right away rather than have to wait until a date closer to departure.

It was good experience to book tickets online. Navigation and transition to the next screen was easy and clear. Only thing which I felt took more than expected time was seat selection. Overall it was satisfactory experience.

In general the presentation is clear and it's not too difficult to navigate and find what is needed. Unfortunately the calendar has issues and the award amounts are not always showing or sometimes not even accurate.
