I'm a music lover, I still buy CDs and I listen to flac music at home or in mobility, thus I finally decided to buy a pair of headphones for my home listening. After reading lots of reviews and listening on YouTube to headphones sound demos — not the real headphones sound, but at least they tell you something on the sound signature —, I decided Beyerdynamic's one was my favourite sound signature! I preferred to buy some "flat" or close to flat headphones, to listen to music in the closet possible way to the original track, as I'm not fan of overwhelming bass sound. I don't own any thousand euro headphones amplifier, but with the USB DAC/Amp I have and the Yamaha A/V Receiver I have, I'm quite satisfied by the sound experience, so far. I had to perform a warmup test for the headphones, and after around 40 hours, I can say the sound's really good! On PC I'm using Peace equalizer with Beyerdynamic DT 990 profile. It's good and it avoids having voices too much sharp in my ears. If I have to find a weak point, is probably the voice peak, that without a proper equalization may result in being too harsh sometimes, after long listening sessions. But consider I'm not using a proper headphone amplifier, which I might buy soon, so things could change in positive in this respect. My rating is 9/10. I'm satisfied. I'm aware that spending more I could probably find better headphones, but considering my price range, the sound of my DT-990 Pro is so good for my ears! Oh, and about the materials and build quality, I'm very happy. This all black colour is just a thing of beauty for me! The ear pad cushions are soft and perfect for many hours of listening, without hurting my ears. The headband doesn't hurt and doesn't tighten too much on my head. And before I forget, another good thing I found in these Limited Edition Black, is that the cable is straight. It's way better for me, especially when I sit far away. I don't like so much coiled cables, to be honest. Clearly, in my opinion it would have been better to have a detachable cable, even balanced cables, but it's fine for now. Just in case I really need them, once the warranty is expired I could try modding them. Thanks to Beyerdynamic.

First, the customer support could be much better. More empathy to be specific. Selling B-ware for a A-ware price is strange. (No option to return for free) On the other hand the product looks just like new,so no complaints there. The sound is superb. Beyerdynamic knows the sweet spot, no muddy bass or sharp hight, it's spacious, robust, subtitle,it's just wonderful, big ups there! The ANC is plain medium to low. It's just not the right chip or something. Compared to the MX3 from Sony. You're just strait into space, so surreal. But not with the Lagoon,a small hissing and lower surrounding sound. This was a offer I was willing to make because of the terrific sound. Connectivity is good, although it's Bluetooth 4.2 I can walk the house with no problems. But for me they sit not comfortable enough. My ears are apparently to big for them. After a couple of hours my ears get pain. I can somehow wiggle my ears inside but that is just strange. So in short, Sound is very good, connectivity with all the codecs, to although it's BT4.2.Is good. Building is okay, not super sturdy but not crappy either (no plastic sounds) But the heart my ears after hours and that's not good to me.

I didn't receive the parcel. When the order was transferred between couriers, wrong and insufficient information was supplied. This led to the delivery going to the wrong address and the package was lost. When I informed Beyerdynamic that the wrong information had been supplied to the courier, pre-delivery, instead of trying to get in touch with the courier to rectify the delivery(or atleast start something) they said they could only take action once, and if the package was lost. Which means that at this point, if I want the headphones, I will have to wait for my refund, and make a fresh order and wait once again, hoping the courier gets the delivery correct this time. I'm frankly better off never ordering from them ever again. There's no value in buying directly from the manufacturer.

Unfortunately the headphone came out the box with the right cup hanging loose! The Yoke wasn't screwed in the End piece. The logo name sticker on the left cup is upside down. See pictures But because I'm handy I fixed the cup by taking the headband of and screwed the Yoke in the End piece. (luckily the screws were there in the End piece) I know it was a B-stock but this shouldn't happen. But the sound is good and I can edit my video's again. Because my son is using my old Beyerdynamic DT 880's for gaming.

I received my Blue Byrd (2nd Gen.) in-ear headphones yesterday. I had a really difficult time connecting them to the Bluetooth of my Linux PC. There is no guide for that, nor an application to configure the headphones. I noticed also that the photo next to the "pairing" chapter of the user manual is wrong. Finally, I was really disappointed to learn that I paid 129 € a week ago and yesterday's price was of 89 €.

Thank you for your input. About the online manual: we checked it and will correct the error. Of course the On/Off button is meant for the pairing process, as shown before on the picture where switching on and off is explained. We will update the PDF file on our website soon. (The Quick Start Guide as delivered with the product is correct.) For you detail question about the pairing. Pairing actually always works the same, regardless of the specific playback device: • Bring the headphones to the pairing mode • Switch on Bluetooth on the playback device. If applicable, delete an existing Bluetooth connection to other headphones and trigger the search for headphones ready to be paired. • Chose the “Blue Byrd (2nd gen.)” as the headphones in the Bluetooth menu of he playback device and have it paired. • (If all this doesn’t work please execute the following steps: o unpair existing headphones within the playback device and try again o delete the paired device list in the headphones and try again o make a factory reset of the headphones and try again ) For further question, we are happy to help you via help@beyerdynamic.com. Kind regards, your beyerdynamic Team

My review can be found here: https://diyaudioheaven.wordpress.com/headphones/measurements/brands-a-i/dt-900-pro-x/ my conclusion: Those loving the typical DT990 Beyerdynamic sound (elevated lows and treble) may find the DT 900 PRO X a bit lean in the lows and maybe lack some of the 'hyper detail' while in reality they got used to hyped lows and treble. The DT 900 PRO X however has a more neutral, forward, open and dynamic sound with a tamer treble. It certainly does not sound dull or boring. The DT 900 PRO X can easily be driven from phones and portable players and play quite loud. Not suited for commuting as it is an open version. The DT 700 PRO X would be better suited for that. This headphone can be used in studios and will work great for monitoring and maybe even mixing. One thing that one has to take in mind in a studio. The driver is easily blown up due to its low power rating. Accidentally increasing the volume while it is lying around can kill this headphone. The replaceable cable is handy. The replaceable pads are quite comfortable and will fit most (but not all ears). The clamping force is on the high side and wearing it for more than an hour gives me a headache. Probably fine in a studio but the clamping force is too high for wearing all day or even just a few hours enjoying music.

Recently ordered Tygr 300r headphones. They arrived in a couple of days, in good order, and I'm enjoying them quite much. Sounds good for pretty much everything - like gaming, listening to music and watching movies. The incredible bass extension ( all the way to 5-10 hz), a lot of trebles and a great soundstage (both wide and deep wise). Because of V-shaped sound profile, they may be lacking in mids just a lil (vocals and guitars a bit distant for example) - this is not a big deal, and not that noticeable. Just be mindful of one thing - even tho they say "detailed treble without sharpness", its still resonating a lot in highs, so you may quite likely want to still equalize them and do some work to make them sound the best and suit your hearing. Look for peaks around 10-11k, 8-9k and something may whistle at certain tracks around 5-6k. Overall, with some equalization and removing those imbalances in highs - they sound very exciting throughout all frequency range. For less than 140 euros that I bought them for - I can definitely recommend them for those who want exciting, universal open back quality headphones.

I bought a DT 990 SpecialBlack Edition (250 hom), as an alternative to other headphones that are part of my set. After about 10 days I gave it back, because the sound is very similar to a headset I already own: ... a Sennheiser HD800S! Of course there are differences in the micro details, in the soundstage, etc., but we are always talking about two highly performing headphones. But if we think that the DT990 costs exactly one tenth of the noble HD800, we realize that we are in front of a headphone with an amazing tone but with an incredibly low price. What would I change? Headphones of this level deserve a detachable, replaceable cable. Not fixed! If you were looking for a hi-fi, detailed, full-bodied bass headphone at an affordable price, this is a safe choice.

Magnificent product, package and shipping (Beyerdynamic side). Nevertheless DHL abused. We where at home (waiting for your shipment) at the date and time at which DHL (lying) claims that we where not at home. DHL dropped the shipment at a store far from home and we need to go there to recover the package. This is a repeated situation with DHL, they just drop the packages at some store claiming the recipient was not at home (saving a travel to the delivering address). Beyerdynamic payed a "up to home door" shipment but DHL does not make the service. We know this is not your fault, nevertheless it is your responsibility and we want you to know, just in case these repeats from DHL you hopefully take action on it.

Almost 20 years ago i bought the legendary dt-770 pro 250ohm for production and listening purposes. Was always extremely happy with it. Used it so often that it was just worn out by now. So it was time to get a new headphone. I stuck with beyerdynamic because of the comfort and great sound quality. Saw the black edition and fell in love right away. Bought a B-stock model dt-770 pro 250ohm limited black edition cause i heard great things about their B-stock models so i gave it a shot. They look and sound exactly like new! Really impressed. The box itself was a little dinged but i don't mind. I didn't buy it for the box but for the headphones obviously. Very happy! Highly recommend!!

I really don't regret the investment! I bought a MMX-300 Manufaktur only to have the 600Ohm drivers to take full advantage of the sound card I bought in advance for this headset. I intend to use it mainly for playing games and listening to music. The microphone is very good, in spite of a very very light background noise observed, amplifying more if we increase the gain. But as my friends can hear me well with +0dB gain, it doesn't bother me. The fact that it is a renowned brand, a name that I knew and in view of the various information that I could find about this product, I did not hesitate very long. German brand, German quality.

I already own some very good open headphones from Sannheiser and HifiMan, but I wanted to buy closed headphones mainly for listening to music in situations where open headphones cannot be used. After a lot of research I bought the DT 770 pro without ever having listened to them. Once I tried it I was very impressed. I was not expecting such a detailed and warm sound. Excellent bass, precise highs and mids never too far behind. They almost compete with my Sundara which cost more than double. Sure they don't offer wide sound like open headphones, but they're not very far off. Now I understand why they became legendary.

Sound quality as well as the microphone is top notch for it's pricing point. Hard to find anything better in this price range. However, after wearing the headset for 1 hour+ I started to feel a slight discomfort around my ears. This is due to the part that the padding is very shallow and the tips of my ears are actually pressed against the drivers. I hope Beyerdynamic or another 3rd party designs a more comfortable/deeper earpad so I can switch them as soon as possible. All in all, a headset with high audio quality, but could have been better in comfort.
