Used Drive Sold as New – Warranty Issue Still Unresolved After One Month
If you want to receive a used enterprise drive instead of the new one you paid for, and then spend more than a month trying to obtain valid warranty documentation, Cybertrading is the right place.
I purchased an HPE LTO-8 drive advertised as new.
The drive I received showed clear signs of prior use (usage recorded in the drive logs), and the serial number on the delivered drive does not match the serial number on the sales documentation.
Because HPE requires proof of purchase containing the serial number of the actual device and the date of sale, I am currently unable to register the warranty for the drive that Cybertrading delivered.
My complaint has been open for more than a month. Despite repeated communication, I still have no corrected documentation, no replacement drive and no resolution. The sales manager listed on Cybertrading’s website acknowledged my frustration, but the issue remains unresolved.
This has been, by far, the worst purchasing experience I have ever had with enterprise hardware.
